5: DJ LYTA
DJ Lyta, real name Samuel Mwangi and the second-born of five siblings. He never thought of becoming a DJ. After completing primary school at Bishop Mahianini Academy in Murang’a and his secondary education at Gituru Secondary School in Nyahururu, he proceeded to Zetech College for a diploma in information technology.
He started his career in 2012 when he was producing half hour mix and distributing to Kayole matatus.
4:DJ BASH
Simon Koikai aka DJ Bash was born on the 18th of March 1987. Having grown up in a family that wouldn’t go a day without listening to music, this fostered his passion for music from an early stage. DJ Bash’s interest in being a DJ Sparked in the year 2008 after attending the Pilsner Mfalme DJ Competition. Seeing the crowd light up through music, he got inspired and fell in love with the art.
3:DJ PIERRA MAKENA
Both a mother, an actress and a dj, Pierra Makena is definitely among Kenya's dj GOATs.
Born in Meru on 11th April 1982 this female dj started her journey in music after quitting Tahidi High and moving to Namibia.She is an event and co-operate kinda dj and her mixes are fire.
2: DJ JOE MFALME
Another big fish in the industry as far as deejays are concerned is this dj. Joe Mfalme is a pioneer in the industry so there is no way you are competing with him. JOSEPH MWENDA Dj Joe Mfalme was born on the 9th of December 1987. His interest in being a Dj begun at an early age of 13yrs old while listening to some of Kenya’s pioneer Dj’s.He became second in the Pilsner Mfalme Dj Competition 2008 and 98.4 Capital FM would see something special in this great young talent, and offer him a contract.
1: DJ KALONJE
He was born on 3 January 1987 and his real name is George Waweru. He has been in the industry since 2010. He is one of the best Kenya has. His mixes never disappoint. His STREET LOCKED mixes went viral and this is what jump started his career.
